Chris Frederick is a native of Findlay, Ohio. He attended his first New York City Pride weeks after he had come out to his mother at the age of 17. Standing as a spectator little did he realize that he would be running the organization that produces the annual event ten years later.
After graduating from Ohio University in 2005, Chris moved to New York City where he procured a position as the Promotions Manager at Out and The Advocate until 2009. He was the executive producer of events such as the annual Out 100 and The Advocate’s 40th Anniversary Gala.
Chris left the publishing realm to begin working for Heritage of Pride (NYC Pride) in October of 2009. Going into his fourth year of producing the event, he has grown corporate sponsorships by over 420% in three years. Additionally, he initiated and grew the organizations social media platforms to become the largest followed Pride pages on Facebook and Twitter in North America. He continues to be responsible for producing the largest Pride celebration in the country at just over 1.7 million attendees.
He currently resides in Manhattan with his partner of five years and his dog named Haus.
